Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Journal of Social, Education and Religious Studies (JSERS) undergo a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that:

  • The identity of the authors is not disclosed to the reviewers
  • The identity of the reviewers is not disclosed to the authors

This process maintains impartiality, fairness, and academic integrity.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All manuscripts are first reviewed by the editorial team to check:

  • Compliance with the journal’s scope and guidelines
  • Originality and potential contribution to the field
  • Technical completeness and adherence to author guidelines

Manuscripts that do not meet these basic requirements may be desk rejected without external review.

2. Assignment to Reviewers

Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and novelty
  • Clarity and coherence of arguments
  • Methodological rigor
  • Significance and contribution to the discipline

Reviewers provide recommendations:

  • Accept
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)
  • Reject

4. Editorial Decision

The editorial team considers the reviewers’ reports and makes a final decision:

  • Accept
  • Revise (minor or major)
  • Reject

The decision is communicated to the authors along with anonymized reviewers’ comments.

5. Revision and Resubmission

If revisions are requested:

  • Authors must submit a revised manuscript
  • Authors are encouraged to include a response letter explaining changes made

The revised manuscript may be sent for a second round of review if necessary.

6. Final Acceptance and Publication

Upon acceptance, manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout, and publication in the upcoming issue.
