1. Aims and Scope

Journal of Social, Education and Religious Studies (JSERS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality scholarly works in the fields of social sciences, education, and religious studies. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary research that integrates social, educational, and religious perspectives aligned with societal transformation and humanistic discourse.

JSERS prioritizes manuscripts that demonstrate:

  • Strong theoretical grounding
  • Clear research novelty
  • Methodological rigor
  • Significant scholarly contribution
  • International relevance

2. Types of Manuscripts

JSERS accepts:

  1. Original Research Articles
  2. Theoretical or Conceptual Papers
  3. Systematic Review Articles
  4. Critical Scholarly Essays

JSERS does not accept purely descriptive reports without analytical contribution.

3. Manuscript Structure (Scopus-Oriented Format)

JSERS uses an integrated structure. Literature review must be embedded within the Introduction and Discussion sections, not as a separate heading.

Manuscripts must be organized as follows:

1. Title

  • Concise and specific (max. 15–18 words)
  • Reflects core variables or concepts
  • Avoid vague or generic wording

2. Author Details

  • Full name (without academic titles)
  • Affiliation (institution, country)
  • Email address
  • ORCID ID (mandatory for corresponding author)

3. Abstract (150–250 words)

The abstract must clearly state:

  • Background/context
  • Research objective
  • Method
  • Key findings
  • Main contribution/novelty
  • Implications

Avoid citations in the abstract.

4. Keywords

3–5 keywords (avoid repeating words from the title).

5. Introduction

The Introduction must include:

  • Background and problem statement
  • Critical engagement with recent international literature (state of the art)
  • Research gap
  • Research question(s)
  • Clear statement of novelty and contribution

Literature discussion should be analytically integrated, not merely descriptive.

6. Method

Must clearly describe:

  • Research design
  • Data sources / participants
  • Instruments
  • Data collection procedures
  • Data analysis techniques
  • Validity/trustworthiness procedures
  • Ethical clearance (if applicable)

Quantitative studies must report statistical procedures clearly.
Qualitative studies must explain analytical frameworks rigorously.

7. Results

  • Present findings systematically
  • Use tables or figures where necessary
  • Avoid excessive descriptive repetition
  • Do not mix interpretation excessively (interpretation belongs mainly in Discussion)

8. Discussion

Must:

  • Interpret findings critically
  • Compare with recent international studies
  • Explain theoretical implications
  • Highlight practical and policy implications
  • Emphasize contribution to the field

Discussion should demonstrate engagement with global scholarly discourse.

9. Conclusion

  • Directly answer research questions
  • Summarize main findings
  • Highlight scholarly contribution
  • State limitations
  • Provide recommendations for future research

Avoid repeating the abstract.

4. Formatting Requirements

  • Language: Academic English (professional level)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Paper size: A4
  • Length: 6,000–9,000 words
  • Maximum 5 tables/figures (unless justified)

5. Citation and Reference Style

JSERS uses APA 7th Edition.

Scopus-ready reference standards:

  • Minimum 20 references
  • At least 80% from peer-reviewed international journals
  • At least 70% published within the last 10 years
  • Prefer Scopus-indexed sources
  • DOI must be included where available

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software (Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote).

6. Ethical Standards

JSERS follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

Authors must confirm:

  • Originality of the manuscript
  • Not submitted elsewhere
  • Similarity index below 15–20%
  • No data fabrication or falsification
  • Proper authorship contribution
  • Ethical approval for human subjects research

Plagiarism screening is conducted before peer review.

7. Peer Review Process

JSERS implements a double-blind peer review system.

Process:

  1. Editorial screening (scope & format check)
  2. Similarity check
  3. Review by minimum two independent reviewers
  4. Decision categories:
    • Accept
    • Minor Revision
    • Major Revision
    • Reject

Average review time: 4–8 weeks.

Editorial decision is final.

8. Open Access Policy

JSERS provides immediate open access under the principle of global knowledge dissemination.

JSERS applies transparent publication policies.
