Plagiarism Policy

The Jurnal Ilmu Sosial, Ekonomi dan Pendidikan is committed to maintaining the originality and integrity of all published scholarly works. All submitted manuscripts are subject to a similarity check before proceeding to further editorial evaluation.

Similarity Screening

Manuscripts are screened using recognized plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin or iThenticate. The journal generally requires an overall similarity index of no more than 20%.

However, the similarity percentage is not the sole basis for determining plagiarism. Editors will also evaluate the nature, source, and extent of the detected similarities.

Forms of Plagiarism

The journal does not accept plagiarism in any form, including:

• copying text, ideas, data, figures, or other materials without proper acknowledgment;
• inappropriate paraphrasing without proper citation;
• substantial reproduction of previously published material;
• self-plagiarism or redundant use of an author's previously published work without appropriate citation; and
• improper or misleading attribution of sources.

Editorial Action

Based on the similarity screening and editorial assessment:

• manuscripts with acceptable and properly cited similarities may proceed to the next editorial stage;
• manuscripts containing correctable similarity issues may be returned to the authors for revision; and
• manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism may be rejected.

If plagiarism is identified after publication, the journal will take appropriate action in accordance with its Corrections, Retractions & Withdrawals Policy.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscripts and for providing accurate citations and acknowledgments for all sources used. Authors are strongly encouraged to check their manuscripts for unintended similarities before submission.
