Corrections, Retractions & Withdrawals

The Jurnal Ilmu Sosial, Ekonomi dan Pendidikan is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors or significant concerns are identified in submitted or published articles, the journal may take appropriate action through correction, retraction, or withdrawal.

1. Corrections

A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article but does not invalidate the main findings or conclusions of the work.

Corrections may apply to significant errors involving:

• data, tables, figures, or textual information;
• author names, affiliations, or other publication metadata; or
• other errors that may affect the accurate understanding or citation of the article.

The correction will be published transparently and linked to the original article where appropriate.

2. Retractions

A published article may be retracted when serious concerns make its findings or publication record unreliable. Grounds for retraction may include:

• unreliable findings resulting from fabrication, falsification, or serious error;
• substantial plagiarism;
• duplicate or redundant publication;
• serious ethical violations;
• unauthorized use of data or material; or
• other serious breaches affecting the integrity of the article.

A retraction notice will clearly identify the affected article and state the reason for the retraction. The original article will normally remain accessible as part of the scholarly record and be clearly marked as Retracted.

3. Withdrawals

Authors may request the withdrawal of a manuscript before publication by submitting a written request to the editorial office explaining the reason for withdrawal.

Withdrawal requests will be considered by the editor based on the manuscript's current stage in the editorial and publication process.

Authors should not submit the manuscript to another journal until the withdrawal has been formally confirmed by the journal.

4. Editorial Responsibility

Decisions concerning corrections, retractions, and withdrawals are made by the Editor-in-Chief or responsible editor after appropriate assessment of the circumstances.

Where necessary, the journal may request clarification or supporting information from authors or other relevant parties before making a decision.

5. Transparency of the Scholarly Record

The journal seeks to preserve the integrity and transparency of the scholarly record. Notices of correction or retraction will be clearly identified and, where applicable, linked to the original article to ensure that readers are informed of changes to its publication status.
