Journal of Learning Innovation and Educational Technology (JLIET)
The Journal of Learning Innovation and Educational Technology (JLIET) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. Editors, reviewers, authors, and publishers are expected to adhere to ethical standards at every stage of the publication process.
This statement is based on the principles and best practices developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and internationally recognized scholarly publishing standards.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to JLIET must ensure that:
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must submit original work. Any use of the work and/or words of others must be appropriately cited or quoted.
Plagiarism in all its forms, including self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and redundant publication, constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
Manuscripts that have been published elsewhere or are under consideration by another publication will not be accepted.
Data Accuracy and Research Integrity
Authors must present an accurate account of the research conducted and provide sufficient detail to allow replication of the work.
Fabrication, falsification, manipulation, or selective reporting of data is considered unethical and unacceptable.
Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study.
All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript prior to submission.
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the research or interpretation of findings.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors must appropriately acknowledge the work of others and cite all relevant publications that have influenced the reported study.
Ethical Approval
Research involving human participants must comply with applicable ethical standards and regulations.
Where appropriate, authors should provide information regarding ethical approval and informed consent procedures.
Correction of Errors
When authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they are obligated to promptly notify the editorial office and cooperate in correcting or retracting the publication.
Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers play an essential role in maintaining the quality and integrity of scholarly publications.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others without authorization from the editor.
Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively, professionally, and constructively.
Personal criticism of the authors is inappropriate.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and notify the editor of any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other published works.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers should decline review assignments when conflicts of interest exist due to competitive, collaborative, institutional, or personal relationships with the authors or organizations connected to the manuscript.
Timeliness
Reviewers should complete evaluations within the agreed timeframe and promptly inform the editor if they are unable to review the manuscript.
Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, transparent, and unbiased publication process.
Publication Decisions
Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their scholarly merit, originality, significance, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal's scope.
Fair Play
Editors assess manuscripts without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, religious belief, political philosophy, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics of the authors.
Confidentiality
Editors must not disclose any information regarding submitted manuscripts except to the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisors, and the publisher when appropriate.
Conflicts of Interest
Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
Integrity of the Scholarly Record
Editors will take appropriate action when ethical concerns arise, including corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or other measures necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, or significant unattributed content will be rejected.
Retraction Policy
A published article may be retracted if:
- Evidence of research misconduct is identified.
- Data fabrication or falsification is confirmed.

- Serious ethical violations are established.
- The findings are proven unreliable due to major errors.
Retraction notices will remain permanently linked to the original article to maintain transparency and the integrity of the scholarly record.
