Editorial Policies
The Journal is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, independent, and consistent editorial process. Editorial decisions are based on the academic quality, relevance, originality, methodological rigor, and contribution of submitted manuscripts.
1. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently by the Editor-in-Chief and authorized members of the editorial team.
Editorial decisions must not be influenced by:
· commercial interests;
· Article Processing Charges (APCs);
· advertising or sponsorship;
· personal relationships;
· institutional interests; or
· other factors unrelated to the academic quality of the manuscript.
The Publisher respects the editorial independence of the Journal and does not interfere with academic decisions concerning manuscripts.
2. Fair and Objective Evaluation
All manuscripts are evaluated according to the Journal's academic and editorial standards.
The Journal does not discriminate against authors on the basis of nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, institutional affiliation, political views, or other irrelevant personal characteristics.
Editorial decisions are based on the scholarly merits and suitability of the manuscript for the Journal.
3. Initial Editorial Assessment
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment before external peer review.
The editorial team may assess:
· alignment with the Journal's Focus and Scope;
· compliance with Author Guidelines;
· manuscript completeness and presentation;
· academic relevance and potential contribution;
· research and publication integrity; and
· suitability for peer review.
A manuscript may be returned to the authors for technical correction or rejected at this stage if it does not meet the Journal's basic requirements.
4. Peer Review and Editorial Decisions
Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment may proceed to the Journal's peer-review process.
The Journal applies a double-anonymized peer-review process, as described in the Journal's Peer Review Process policy.
The final editorial decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor after considering the manuscript, reviewer reports, and relevant editorial considerations.
Reviewer recommendations are considered carefully but do not automatically determine the final editorial decision.
5. Conflicts of Interest
Editors must disclose and appropriately manage any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest involving a manuscript.
An editor should not participate in the editorial decision-making process when a conflict could compromise, or reasonably appear to compromise, impartiality.
Where necessary, the manuscript may be assigned to another independent editor.
Authors and reviewers are also required to disclose relevant conflicts of interest in accordance with the Journal's Publication Ethics and Peer Review policies.
6. Confidentiality
The Journal maintains the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and information obtained during the editorial and peer-review process.
Editors, reviewers, and other individuals involved in the editorial process must not disclose unpublished manuscript information to unauthorized persons.
Unpublished information obtained through editorial or peer review must not be used for personal or professional advantage.
7. Editorial Appeals
Authors may appeal an editorial decision when they believe that:
· a significant procedural error occurred;
· relevant information was overlooked;
· there was a serious misunderstanding of the manuscript; or
· the decision may have been affected by a conflict of interest or other substantial concern.
An appeal must provide a clear and substantive explanation and, where appropriate, supporting evidence.
An appeal should not be based solely on disagreement with a reviewer's academic opinion.
The editorial team will review the appeal and determine whether reconsideration is justified. The decision following an appeal is normally final.
8. Complaints
Authors, reviewers, readers, and other stakeholders may submit complaints concerning the Journal's editorial or publishing processes.
Complaints should be submitted to the editorial office and should include sufficient information to allow the matter to be assessed.
The Journal will seek to handle complaints fairly, objectively, and confidentially.
Where appropriate, complaints may be referred to the Editor-in-Chief, Publisher, or another independent person within the Journal's governance structure.
9. Editorial Board Responsibilities
Members of the editorial board are expected to contribute to the academic development and quality of the Journal.
Editorial board members may assist with:
· manuscript evaluation;
· peer-review coordination;
· editorial decisions;
· development of editorial policies;
· identification of qualified reviewers; and
· promotion of research and publication integrity.
Editorial board members must maintain confidentiality and disclose relevant conflicts of interest.
10. Special Issues and Guest Editors
Special issues may be organized around specific scholarly themes and may involve guest editors.
Guest editors must follow the Journal's standard editorial, peer-review, and publication ethics requirements.
Manuscripts submitted by guest editors, editorial board members, or individuals with close professional relationships to the editorial team must be handled independently to avoid conflicts of interest.
Special issues are subject to the same academic and ethical standards as regular issues.
11. Post-Publication Editorial Actions
The Journal is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the published scholarly record.
When significant errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, the Journal may take appropriate action, including:
· publishing a correction;
· issuing an Expression of Concern; or
· retracting an article.
Such actions are handled in accordance with the Journal's Retraction & Correction Policy.
12. Transparency and Continuous Improvement
The Journal regularly reviews its editorial practices and policies to improve the quality, transparency, efficiency, and integrity of its publishing process.
The Journal may update its editorial policies when necessary to reflect developments in scholarly publishing standards, research integrity, and responsible editorial practice.
